Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a selection of answers to questions recieved in the past. We hope they are useful for you.

Q. Can we give you a playlist, with some of the songs we'd like you to play during the night?

A. Of course. As standard, we include a playlist form with every client's booking information. As long as this form is sent back at least two weeks before the event, we will ensure we have all your songs on the night. Alternatively, playlists can be emailed to us at matt@music-2-play.co.uk. Other than your particular song requests, we will just play what we feel is the right music for the night.

Q. Do you take requests from guests on the night?

A. Yes and we're usually able to fulfil them. We carry a great variety of music to every gig, encompassing almost every style you could imagine and ranging from 1940s, to the very latest chart tracks. Click on the "Music" button above to find out more.

Q. I'm just planning a smallish gathering of friends and family. Will your equipment be too big for my function?

A. Our mobile rigs can easily be scaled down in size. We have both small and a large pa systems, both using professional JBL speakers. Likewise, with lighting, we can supply anything from a compact 4-light tripod, to a 3 metre wide trussing system. Effectively, this means we can accomodate clients with a venue as small as a living room and as large as a conference centre or concert hall.

Q. Why aren't there more pictures of your events on the website?

A. We've always wanted to include more pictures of our events. However, taking suitably high quality pictures in the dark is very difficult and using a flash takes away all the ambience of the room and the disco lighting. Also, crowd photos can sometimes give a wrong impression to potential clients -- if they show a largely teenage crowd, it might put off someone planning a more mature gathering -- if they show a much older crowd, it may put off younger clients who expect that'll we play 50s, 60s or 70s music all night. Music-2-Play can accomodate any crowd or any size and we play all types of music.

Q. The venue that I've booked my function at wants the DJ to have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment. What are these and do you have them?

A. Public Liability insurance is a type of insurance that covers professionals who run their own businesses, against damage they may accidently cause to the public and private property. We have public liability insurance of upto £2,000,000. PAT or Portable Appliance Testing is a process by which electrical equipment is checked to ensure its safety. All our equipment is PAT Tested yearly. We will happily provide the relevant documents to either the client or venue operators. Our equipment can also be inspected on the night. All PAT Tested equipment is affixed with a label, showing the date of test and that it has passed.
